Case Study: EasyRA Analyzer at Cape Peninsula University of Technology

The Oxidative Stress Research Centre at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) needed a compact, reliable analyzer for small sample volumes in both human and animal studies. They evaluated the Medica EasyRA Clinical Chemistry Analyzer to see if it met their research needs.

The EasyRA stood out for its user-friendly touchscreen, small footprint, and built-in ISE module. It was easy to train students on, even those with no prior lab experience. Features like RFID reagent tracking and automatic calibration made setup and operation simple.

Most importantly, the analyzer delivered excellent precision. In a test run of 25 repeated samples, the EasyRA achieved a CV of just 1.05%–1.41%, a major improvement over their previous analyzer’s 8% CV. This meant fewer repeat tests, saving time, reagents, and samples.

"Medica’s EasyRA has proven itself as a small, but powerful, instrument in our lab."
